Beautiful inviting illustrations! The story is one of the beauty of friendship and trust because of what lies on the inside, not the outside! A lovely autumn read for little ones! Even I look forward to enjoying it each fall as I share it with my son!

The Scarecrow is sad and lonely because all the animals are scared of him. When the wheat grows tall he is further isolated because he can no longer hear or see the animals that he longs to be friends with. After a blanket of snow covers him making him into a snowman the animals are no longer scared of him. He fears that as his snow disguise melts the animals will shy away from him, however his fears are unrealized and he is not lonely again. Teachers this is a great story for teaching beginning, middle, and end.
