I'm a fan of Gillian Bradshaw's Roman history books, but I like anything she writes, so I wanted to try this novel. It's a good story, full of the historical details that Bradshaw brings to her books. I'm also a journalist, so I really enjoyed the description of working on early printing presses during the British Civil Wars. The end is satisfying for the main character's life, even though the book ends before the second British War starts, leaving that part of the story untold, but that was okay.
