I didn't know it was fiction until I went to Worldcat and then Wikipedia. I find it quite authentic, i.e. the privations well described. Many editions reprinted in recent years, so it is surprising that there are no copies posted and only 2 wishes, both for a particular recent edition and probably interested in a learned introduction.
