I do not like to give up on books, but I could not get past the first 60 pages of the book. The way the story was written did nothing to help draw me into storyline. Disappointing, as I was looking forward to reading this one!

Literary fiction that is all showing & no telling can be horrifically boring. This book was a total sleeping pill. You couldn't give 2 cents about the characters, the narrator especially. I kept going only to see what happened to the brother and it's not really answered. Bad, bad, bad!

I made it 50 pages, it was written as if the teenager that the story was told by actually wrote the story, it was slow moving, I found myself not caring at all what happened to any of the characters and just didn't want to put forth any nmore effort into this slow moving poorly written book.

If I had to sum this book up in one word, it would be "sucked". Not one character was likeable. The story was slow moving. I skipped the entire middle of the book. I was really looking forward to this one and was disappointed.
