I thoroughly enjoyed the author's previous books, Cerulean Sea and Whispering Door, so maybe my expectations were too high for this story. It's hard to explain my reluctance without revealing spoilers, but it just didn't have the magic of the previous reads for me. The robot interactions and humor became repetitive and the big life lessons seemed forced.
