A realistic, strong yet sensitive story...of friendship, love, courage and hope for the future. A tale of love amid war, of love against all odds. The characters are real and endearing. You feel like you are a witnessing the story, not just reading it. One of Fern Michaels best!

Bought a couple of months ago with a gift certificate, first owner, this book has a lot to do with the Vietnam war and a tortured romance between a officer and a nurse stationed in different parts of Vietnam as well as their life after the war trying to live back here. I REALLY enjoyed it. Great story, good writing.

Gut wrenching love story, but don't mistake this book for a "romance" novel. If you enjoy Nicholas Sparks, this one is for you.

Keep a tissue handy while reading this.
