Liturgy of the Ordinary: Sacred Practices in Everyday Life
Liturgy of the Ordinary Sacred Practices in Everyday Life
Author: Tish Harrison Warren
Framed around one ordinary day, this book explores daily life through the lens of liturgy, small practices and habits that form us. Each chapter looks at something the author does in a day--making her bed, brushing her teeth, losing her key--and relates it to spiritual practice as well as to our Sunday worship.

A delightful book in which the author, an Anglican priest, demonstrates how to begin to live a more spiritual, a more contemplative life just by finding God in the ordinary routines of a typical day. The stories she tells are excellent demonstrations of her primary point: you don't need to join a monastery or a nunnery to develop a daily focus on God.
God can be found when you're surrounded by crying children, when you and your spouse are fighting, when you're sitting in traffic. "God is near."
