Poorly written

I got to page 100 (finally) only to have to start skipping forward, this is a very slow and unbelievable storyline, the MC was just an annoying busybody, having lost her only child to SYDS 5 years ago she still isn't over it and now coming across this little girl in the early morning hours she had a feeling something wasn't right?, give me a break but I doubt that would ever happen, then as the story goes she meets the family and gets too involved in their life and eventually reports it to the police that something is wrong but nothing is done after they go to the house, but the MC can't seem to stay away from them and when they disappear and return to the US she just ups and follow them? give me another break, at this point I just skipped around and got it that it goes into a story about a cult and at that point I just quit

I'm not a fan of Denzil and I think this is the last one for me, I just found this one so long and drawnout boring and even though I know it's just a story in a book I just couldn't buy into any of it especially when the MC just took off for the US looking for a family that wasn't any of her business, I read a few reviews on it and I guess there is a 'twist' at the end but at the point that I quit I just didn't care about any of it, so for me I think it is just poorly written
