A very cute book, with nice and deatiled illustrations. The illustrations are humorous, and my son loves to see the strawberry in disguise (a failed attempt to hide it from the bear, of course). My toddler loves the book on it's primary level, just reading the words and talking about the pictures, but I can see an older child liking it as well for different reasons.
For instance, older children would note that you never see a 'big hungry bear' in the book at all. Is it possible that the other mouse in the story just wants a piece of the strawberry himself? (After all, we all know that the only way to save a red, ripe strawberry from the big hungry bear is to "cut it in half, share some with me, and we'll both eat it all up").
This book is cute, and I can see myself keeping it on our bookshelf for quite a while.
