I read the three chapters on the bus and the protagonist is just as we have heard about all our lives. He is truly the 'Fair Haired Boy.' My dad, circa 1930,was given a nice copy of Tom Sawyer and I am sure he enjoyed that much more than he would have Burnett's famous book.
