Winner of the Caldecott Medal.

A small kitten visits the island and learns what makes the island both unique and part of the world. Gentle illustrations and brief, poetic text.

This book is written by Margaret Wise Brown, who used the name Golden MacDonald for this book.

Ages 4-8 or so.

Golden MacDonald is a pseudonym for Margaret Wise Brown. Very typical of her work, strange in a comforting, memorable way. A kitten learns about nature and her place in it.

The illustrations in this book are charming. Little island shares with a curious kitten what purpose it serves.

Beautifully done book.

This is a lovely book. The drawings are beautiful and interesting and it has many different elements such as seasons, faith in something you cannot see, and the story is delightfully written- one of our favorites.
