Mrs. A. J. Wilder--as she referred to herself in these old articles she wrote for
a country newspaper back in the early 1900s--was a very good, articulate writer. It's
hard to believe that she never had any "higher education". It also makes it not hard to believe that she wrote the 'Little House' books herself. (There has been some speculation over the years about just how much of those books she wrote and how much was her daughter, Rose Wilder Lane.) At any rate, the articles are well written, and aimed primarily at an audience of farm wives--but there is also a lot of wisdom for anyone to take away from it.

I'd heard of the existence of this book several years ago and couldn't find it in any stores. I accidentally ran into here on pbs. As a lifelong fan of her work, I can't believe the previous owner wanted to part with it!
