This just wasn't for me--I thought it might be more of a creepy thriller but it just fell flat for me, nothing to like about the characters except maybe the detective, it is mainly dealing with the after effects of childbirth and for me it had too much description of graphic childbirth and nursing, Golding just filled pages and pages with it and I found it unnecessary and boring after reading a couple pages of it, the story just wasn't a page turner for me and I found it to be more boring than anything else
Little Darlings seamlessly blends a dark fairy tale world into modern day. But the supernatural aren't the only things to be afraid of in this book, humans can be just as bad. Lauren's husband, oh my. Everyone in this book has their own hangups and you can't trust any of the narrators to be reliable. Is it really supernatural or is Lauren crazy or suffering from postpartum depression? Who can be trusted? Even the reader will doubt Lauren's sanity. It's a gripping story absolutely worth the read that plays on primal parental fears.
