The Litigators
Author: John Grisham
The partners at Finley & Figg -- all two of them -- often refer to themselves as "a boutique law firm." Boutique, as in chic, selective, and prosperous. They are, of course, none of these things. What they are is a two-bit operation always in search of their big break, ambulance chasers who've been in the trenches much too long...  more »

This was a bit of a change for Grisham, he tried to make it a bit comedic while still using his usual book formula. The result was that it was "neither here nor there". It was an OK read but it was certainly not his usual or best. I think he is better sticking to his regular formula!

When you have read "Time to Kill", The Firm, Pelican Brief, The Client, Runaway Jury most of Grishams books after these have been mediocre. This is the latest so so book, the last 50 or 60 pages make the book otherwise it would have been a waste of time.

I ran out of stars or i would of given this book more. It was so entertaining. "John" (i think we can now be on 1st name basis as i have read all his books) can write... boy oh boy can he write! This read was more into what i call his "relaxed" mode and then worked itself into more serious matters. The "gang" of wanna be lawyers are endearing and silly and just plain likeable. Their ideas of "lawyer work" in the beginning of the book is rather unique, lazy and carefree . As the book rolls on...it becomes... a few pages here, then a few pages there... more and more serious and now you are into a full scale suspense novel. Absolutely a brillient author and i wouldn't mind if he was my lawyer to boot...he has writing ideas that just goes beyond what you think he is going to do in directions. I am loving his new style of writing with Fords Country and the books for young adults are great reads for adults also. Never spent a bad moment with Mr. Grisham.

This was yet another fabulous book from Grisham! A story of an unhappy attorney at a large legal firm who quits his job and joins an ambulance chasing small firm of two rather inept lawyers. Don't want to spoil the story for you, it will keep you turning pages well into the night!

I thought this was a great story with some twists and turns and it kept you hooked. I am not a John Grisham "groupie" have read a few of the books and don't care for the court room drama genre, but this one was great and should not be missed.

I have to disagree with those who didn't like this book, as I enjoyed it. It didn't seem to have a dark tone to it as some of his others do. If I was to pick one of his books as the 'worst,' I'd pick "Gray Mountain."

Still, we're really not told how the protagonist in this novel came up with the evidence he used on the last day of the trail. All through the rest of the book, he seemed to be overwhelmed with work to find the stuff he did.

One of Grisham's better novels. Much more light-hearted and personable than his usual heavy-handed social commentary style. The characters are well developed and I found myself cheering them on as they handled a most impossible case. A light and entertaining read.

Old fashioned Grisham at his best!

Grisham can spin a good story - there's no doubt about that, but some are better than others. This is one of my two all-time favorites of his - a perfect blend of legalities and laughter.

The characters were well developed and likable. The plot line worked for me. Even the ending was better than many Grisham books.
