This is a beautiful book for book lovers! I made the cornbread from Little House on the Prairie and the muffins from White Fang. The pictures are beautiful and the directions are clear. The recipes are written "for a variety of skill levels." Some of them seemed simplistic but might be fun to make with kids. Others involved frying food in 6 cups of oil or using tart pans or candy thermometers. Some of the desserts are very elaborate. There are also several roast turkeys and goose recipes, so this is not the cookbook you'll grab for a quick Tuesday night dinner.
