This was a great book about 3 friends who are on the list of the most powerful women in NYC, how they juggle their personal lives with their professional lives, and the sacrifices they make on both those ends. I really liked this one! I am looking forward to seeing the series based on this book on TV this fall!!

I've read A LOT of chick lit, and most of it does have a certain amount of fluff or things that are really more laughable than anything else. But therein usually lies the appeal for those times when you want a "light" read. This book, however, is a total snooze-a-thon. In keeping with Sex And The City, it portrays a bunch of women ranging from career driven singletons to socialites, all of whom have one thing in common: they're totally desperate. It's really kind of pathetic - I know that I wouldn't want to be in any of their shoes.

The three main characters are all extremely successful women living in NYC. Despite the fact that they are part of social circles that most of us will never know, the women are so likeable and real, you end up feeling like you want them to be your best friends too. Girlfriend relationships are different from other relationships. Girlfriends support you without trying to solve your problems for you (or fix them); they accept you and do not judge; and they are truly happy for you when good things happen rather than being envious. A fun read that made me have a new appreciation of the gift it is to have girlfriends. I can see why they are thinking of making it into a series this fall.

This was probably my favorite of the Candace Bushnell novels that I have read. The writing flows well, the dialogue is realistic, the characters are likable though flawed, and there's plenty of drama and Manhattan glamour. For readers who enjoyed the show "Sex and the City" but found the book less fun - this one is for you.

Three up and coming female executives in the movie, fashion, and publishing industries are best friends. Their road to success and finding what's important to them in life is interesting and exciting. Set in NYC. Fast paced.

First, I must admit that I havent had the pleasure of reading Sex and the City, so this is my first adventure with Candace Bushnell. I thoroughly enjoyed this book with three females as the center. I loved that each character was unique, but their friendships with each other were genuine and I could imagine how they became friends and why they stayed friends.

A story of their adventures in New York and the trials that women face. I absolutely adored how the women in this story were successful and powerful. It was interesting to read how the men in their life reacted to their successes. I enjoy reading books were the men are put into a different position and how the dynamics of the family must change due to the role reversals.

A great chick lit that made me want to continue reading Candace Bushnell. A must read for all chick lit fans.

The survival strength one learns to overcome defeat, professionally, personally, and mentally. Bushnell writes in a style that is easy to read and very witty. Loving every page!

I bought this book in an airport for reading material on my trip back to NY, and I must say I was pleasantly surprised. The characters are interesting, and there is plenty of drama to keep you turning the page. It is a fun summer read.

I really wanted to like this book. Very slow to read. A little repetitious from "Sex and the City".

Great Chick Lit read, I read it in two days on a plane trip and first day of vacation. Fast reading, light and good for a vacation read. Don't read this if you are looking for deep, serious.

This is now a series on TV. I've watched some of it and it is mostly the same as the book.

This is by the same author as "Sex and The City". It was a good easy read and follows the story of 3 professional New York women.

Thoroughly enjoyed this entertaining read, loved the characters and got them totally. It's not SITC but it has alot going for it and is superior chick-lit. It is also very different and much better than the TV show!
