As she does with her books, Fiona Davis took a New York City landmark and built a story around it while working in the landmarks history i.e. who built it, the different sections of it, things not readily known about it. In this case it was the New York City Public Library. The story is true to its time frame and what was and was not acceptable in polite society at that time. And the story itself was good. I would recommend it.
