Nary a negative word about Lincoln. Not that it took him almost 3 years to appoint a competent general to command the Army of the Potomac (his judge of generals could be thought of as rather poor) and his circumventing of civil liberties provided by the Constitution is always passed over. I'd be hard pressed to argue that Lincoln was not a great leader overall, but I don't think doing what Lincoln did would work in every situation, including business.

Interesting details about Lincoln, but of limited practical use. Too much focus on details with not enough synthesis into fundamental principles that can be universally applied. Example: Many of the bullet points at the end of each chapter were often ridiculous - "If you have a subordinate who has a presidential chin-fly biting him, don't knock it off."
