The "he said", "they said", "she said" after every piece of dialogue was enough to make me not finish listening. I've never read an Anita Shreve book and no matter how great the plot, I don't think I ever will after this.
I enjoyed the story and the style of writing and the reader. All in all, a very enjoyable experience.
This is an interesting book; my first by Anita Shreve. The plot is good; an easy read.

Great story and my first from this author.
Another perfect read from Shreve. Moved me to my very soul - A Father and daughter - the father not knowing how to raise his young daughter. The daughter so forgiving and accepting of her circumstances. She is thrown into an adult world and handles it perfectly. Tugs your heartstrings. Love the characters and how each suffers their own brand of grief.
I thoroughtly enjoyed this book and will be looking for more by this author.
