Lily is just too cute!! Life with Lily follows her from age five through seven, as seen through her eyes. A young Amish girl who wants to be a good little girl, even though sometimes it's really hard. From her siblings, to the birth of a new sibling, to other members of the family who are in her life, Life with Lily shines. Basic questions about Amish life are answered in the back of the book, and as Lily gets around in her community, school and worship, you can't just help but fall in love with her. The first in a new series of four books, geared toward 8-12 years old I can easily see a younger child enjoying being read this book. Really something wonderful!!

This is a book I received for review but since it is for children, I gave it to 11 year old M, who read it and gave me some of her thoughts. I also skimmed through it and will tell you what I saw in it. Check out her review:)

M'S REVIEW-This is a book I really enjoyed. I learned a lot about the Amish way of life. One thing I found interesting was how the children think the teacher is mean but she is only strict. Can't wait to read the next one in this series!

MY THOUGHTS-Now, as you can tell, this is her first review of sorts so she wasn't sure exactly what to put in. I do have to say, she is 11 and read through this book in a day! She loves to read and when I gave her this book, she snatched it up:) This book is the first in the Adventures of Lilly Lapp series and I think it is a cute book to give children. They say for ages 8-12 and I think the ages might be a bit young as an 8 year old could have problems reading this but it depends on the child. It reminds me of a Little House type book but the children will be learning a lot about the Amish family. Good book to give children and would make a great gift! M. has put it on her shelf:)

Available October 2012 at your favorite bookseller from Revell, a division of Baker Publishing Group.
