This was a quick read, but enjoyable.

I picked this book up after reading Gary Paulsen's Winterdance, which I totally enjoyed.

This book tells of special dogs in Gary's life.

Highly enjoyable. describes loving and humorous experiences he's had with maybe 8 or so dogs he's owned , over the years. I may go so far as to say I enjoyed this book better than James Herriot's Dog Stories. Really down-to-earth writing but I felt it was pg-13 because it mentions several times that his parents were drunks.

Loved this book!!

This book seems to be on every school book list in Palm Beach County...and after reading it, I can't quite see why. While the book is sentimental and even cute, it isn't a book I'm going to remember in a few years. I don't see a deep message to it. I suppose I'm not enough of a dog lover either, so maybe I can't look at life through the dogs I've partnered with.
