Lick (3*)
Nice opening that grabbed my attention (waking up hung over, no memory, a wedding ring, and someone's name tattooed on your ass). However, I didn't like David reaction (pissed and hurt). The main reason being he was older than she was and I thought it was shared that she was celebrating turning 21. How could he could he not know she was super drunk? Very few people know their limit and most do over do it. So, you're going to get pissed and butt hurt? Anyway an annulment it is.
Ev's hope to keep this from her family doesn't work once the paparazzi get involved and a video of her getting that tattoo surfaces. She has always been the "good girl" and peacemaker in her family. Always doing what daddy dearest wants. I didn't think the parents were supportive- at all. David offers her a place to stay and get away while they sort out the annulment.Together, they do decide to try get to know each other and give things a chance. They talk and feelings that were there develop further.
I did end up liking this more than I thought I would. However, there are several things that kept me from really liking this. I thought David not talking sooner about Martha was a problem. There was a lot of "other woman" drama that I found unnecessary and didn't like at all.
I'm not sure I will read more in this series. David's brother Jimmy is an asshole so I have zero desire for his. I did like Mal, so might read his story.
