I am a HUGE fan of Jan Burke's Irene Kelly mysteries, and I consider her novel "Bones" one of the greatest thrillers in modern fiction. I've enjoyed every book of hers I've read, especially "Hocus" that was released before this one (which I highly recommend you read, not only because it's great but also because events in it are referred to in this novel) I'm sad to say this book did not grip me like her others, it didn't start off strong and wasn't fast-paced like she usually is. The main mystery is basically a lot of family drama, and there are numerous names and relationships you have to keep fresh in your mind just to make sense of the plot. Keep this in mind when you start this, and it might be a good idea not to read any other fiction until you've read this! I'm still looking forward to reading the other Burke novels in my TBR, this one just fell a little short for me :)
