This is a beautiful book. I absolutely loved it! It is a warm, inspirational story, which leaves you feeling more grateful for love and family. An older man wishes to be remembered as more than an ailing old man. He realizes the greatest gift he can pass on is the wisdom of his years, the jumbled mix of experiences and emotions that add up to a life. So, he compiles a book of his poems for his favorite granddaughter, Emily.

I thought this was going to be a sad story about a grandpa dying from alzheimers. It was not that kind of story at all. This is a heartwarming story about being a parent, about being a spouse, about loving your family, about hurting and being hurt by those you love and ultimately about forgiveness. The letters Harry wrote to Emily are fun & loving & hold clues to life.

This book tells several tales, and the title is a little misleading. For it is far less about Emily and far more about the important people in Emily's young life. At points it comes across as a little preachy and is not subtle in its message about mental health for all ages, and yet it offers these up on an emotional palate that will touch your heart and soul. In the end, you may not want to be Emily, but you will wish you were one of the main characters in this wonderful cast.

My overall impression was MEH. No character development whatsoever. Extremely short read; I finished in about 2 days. The build-up to the ending was uneventful and predictable. I gave it 3 stars because it was based on his own grandfather's stories. It didn't move me in any way, but a short somewhat entertaining read. Only if you have the time to spare.

This book is about a grandpa that brings a family back together with a book of poems and writings that lead to meaningful letters written to his granddaughter Emily. But are the letters really just for Emmily? Heartfelt book, easy read.

I really enjoyed reading this book. It started out a little slow with not much meaning, but then all the meaning that was brought forth towards the end was very special,
