Still very interesting and informative reading by one of the best noted historical fiction writers. This is one of a series on the English Navy during the war with Napoleon. A classic in itself but better if read as one of the series.
#12 in the series of sea adventures of Capt Jack Aubrey and Stephan Maturin known to all from the movie Master and Commander.
As always, a very enjoyable book in this series.
Lucky Jack Aubrey is back (as compared to the unlucky Jack Aubrey of the last few books), as a Captain of a privateer, he uses his daring and pluck to win prize after prize.
Stephen Maturin is up to his usual hijinks as a quirky naturalist, and his "weaknesses".
Triggers: There is some violence, it's a war book after all. Also some "recreational" drug use.

I read this book quicky, reminding myself how fortunate I feel to take all the little simple things for granted. Woman want to have their babies delivered at home, and that;s what the fight for.
