This one met my requirements for a collection of David Sedaris essays. I laughed out loud (more than once) and I'm feeling more at peace with the idea of getting a colonoscopy someday.

If you're looking for a laugh, you can't ever go wrong with Sedaris. Some of the essays he chose to write in a different persona were not as laugh out loud funny as his autobiographical work, but they were still a pleasant read. As always, my favorite pieces deal with Sedaris's dad or with Sedaris acclimating to a new culture/language. Both are discussed in this book. Many thanks to my friend Emily for gifting this book to me - I needed the laughs :-D
a collection of short essays with really no connection to one another other than they all apparently happened to the author, or perhaps they are completely fabricated...who knows. I was intrigued by the good reviews......but my impression: stupid book. Skipped a few chapters, because frankly I just didnt care. Disturbing sections describing abusive behavior of his father...I do not even know if these things really happened. I chuckled a few times, but those moments were rare. didn't like it, I won't bother with his other books. Weird guy.
Not quite as good as some other Sedaris collections...but still Sedaris.
As a diabetic who has problems counting carbohydrates effectively, I am always looking for new ways to improve my health.
Subversively funny.
