Another fun read in the Blackbird Sisters mystery series.
This time around Nora's sister Emma is a suspect in a murder. Nora has to prove her sister's innocence as well as discover who's blackmailing several members of Philadelphia society and come to terms with her relationship with Michael.

3rd in the series
This is the third book in "A Blackbird Sisters Mystery". It is a good read.
I liked the ending much better than the beginning or the middle. However this ending left me dangling and although I know who done it...I don't know if justice was done.
When Rush Strawcutter, the husband of wealthy dogfood heiress, is found bludgeoned to death in a horse stall at an exclusive hunt club, Nora Blackbird is as surprised as anyone. Another Blackbird sisters murder mystery. An enjoyable read.
The Blackbird sisters are great. This is an easy series to read.

Another great mystery in the Blackbird Sisters series! This time one of the sisters is a suspect, and Nora must find the killer to save her sister.
Nora's coverage of the annual hunt club's breakfast is interrupted by murder - with her sister as the prime suspect. Now Nora must uncover the true culprit to keep her sister out of jail.

Cute, complex romantic mystery.
I love the Nora Blackbird series. Her dog, her sister and her on again/off again boyfriend are all a hoot and will bring lots of laughs. This is the third of a trilogy wherein her sister is the suspect of a murder. This is best read after How to Murder a Millionaire and Dead Girls Don't Wear Diamonds.

3rd in the Blackbird Sisters Mysteries. With each sucessive book Martin's writing improves and the story lines become more complex. This one had some elements of sadness that weren't present in the first two in the series. Nora's life becomes more emotionally complex and she has some heartwrenching moments to deal with. This one seemed to move away from the light, fun attitude of 'How To Murder a Millionaire' and reach towards a more solid mystery style.

Still more of the funny Blackbird sisters. Nora, her straight-and-narrow driver (she faints and cannot have a license!), her wacky sisters, her grandmother's vintage couture clothing, and one of the best and most mysterious leading men in quite a few years: the sexy Mick, son of a Mafia don...very enjoyable mysteries.
currently reading (10/20/05). I started reading this series because I liked the title of the first one. I am now addicted to the series. They are quick fun reads. No gory descriptive details of the murder, it is a very cozy murder/mystery series.

I really enjoy this series... the ladies involved are interesting but not over-the-top weird like you sometimes get in novels trying to be funny. This is gentle, pleasant reading with amusing incidents, a good solid mystery story, and fun characters. Highly recommended.
3rd in series...Entertaining story of 3 sisters and their adventures solving murder...Each story is humorous with intelligent story lines and just the right amount of twists and turns in the plot...highly recommended for folks who like to follow the same characters from book to book.
I really enjoy this series and would recommend it.
Another great one in this series. I think each book in the series gets better and better. I love the mystery and really enjoy the laughs along the way to figuring it all out.

Humor, romance, high fashion tips and a good mystery. I think this series gets better with every book. It fits well in both cozy and chic lit genres.
Book 3 in a great series.
A "Blackbird Sisters" mystery with kooky characters, cute clothes and a devious blackmail scheme.

While Nora Blackbird is covering the annual Fox Hunt Breakfast at an exclusive club for the local newspaper, she is shocked to hear that Rush Strawcutter, husband of a wealthy heiress, has been murdered in a horse stall. She is even more alarmed when she finds her sister, Emma, unconscious and bruised nearby. All evidence points to Emma as the culprit. Working to prove Emma's innocence, Nora uncovers several secrets of Philadelphia's high society...secrets that could get her killed.
The third book in Nancy Martin's Blackbird Sisters series is a nice cozy mystery with a lot of humor. Nora gets help from childhood friend Hadley Pinkham, crazy older sister Libby, and sometime boyfriend Michael Abruzzo. But her new puppy, Spike, is the star of this book. He is described as the offspring of her neighbor's beloved rat terrier-poodle-rattlesnake mix and a legendary mongrel that has been featured on Animal Control's most wanted list for two years. My rating: 4 Stars.

Total praise for Nancy Martin's wickly funny Blackbird Sisters Mystery - always a joy!
Nora Blackbird is a Philadelphia former debutant who dresses in grandmama's couture classics to cover Society events and uncover Society murders while dealing with her parent's delinquent tax bill, her eccentric sisters, and the son of one of the top NJ mobster. These are great books with a touch of whimy and humor.
