I read this book about 30 years ago and I never forgot the cover. That's some story right? And, the feeling that the story brought me never left me either. It's one of my top five favorite M. Way titles. It's funny, lyrical, and Nature is an extremely strong character. I like her descriptions and the way she creates a picture and thereby a mood in all of her original stories. It seems that some stories don't like this. I do.

There are intense sensual feelings between the two main characters. She teaches 7th grade (?) and he runs a huge outback station. She's talked into accompanying his (hyperactive, troublesome waif) niece to the Outback. Rosslyn is an innocent doe stalked by Boyd Ballinger, the older (10 years chronologically but light years in experience) alpha male.

Unlike some of her other heroines, Rossalyn is able to stick up for herself and is unperturbed by catty women. With a 1976 copyright, there are only a few kisses exchanged. Nothing more happens.
