The Legend of Bagger Vance was a fun read. If it had been any longer, I don't think I would have enjoyed it as much, but it gets right to the point, bringing out the mysticism and real struggle involved in golf or any other sport, and then extending the metaphysical message out to encompass all of life. The narration itself is good but nothing special- this book is really about the message.

A very good book. I haven't seen the movie, but I really enjoyed this story. Kind of inspiring for people like me who try to play golf.

During the year 1931, two golf legends meet for a 36-hole showdown. They are joined by a troubled local war hero who has the Authentic Swing. This is an inspirational story with religious undertones.
