This is a great story. The fight scenes in this are wonderful, although Drizzt's angst over killing a drow is a little over-dramatic in my opinion. For a guy, he's extremely sensitive despite all that's happened to him and instead of constantly bemoaning something about his fate, he really just needs to grow a pair and stop sniveling. And, as usual, even though he breaks a vow that seemed so important to him, he manages to rationalize his mind change so that it's okay.
I've also never been a fan of the little "memoirs" that Drizzt does within the story. They make him seem preachy, whiny and even corny. I also feel their redundant because they just rehash what we already know.
On the upside, Thibbledorf Pwent is in this book, so there were some laughs there.
Overall, despite my irritations I get with Drizzt, I do still love this story. This was the second time I've read it and I know I'll read it again.

Who is the HECK is the butt-ugly drow on the cover?
Besides that, and wondering why Wulfgar is still such an idiot, and some drow, this was just a time filler.
