Greg Bear writes well, the story keeps moving and is an enjoyable read.
A Prequel to Eon; food on its own account, but not of the scope of EON.
A very interesting read, just don't do what I did. Read Eon & Eternity first, and then go back and read Legacy, or else you'll be hopelessly lost for a while.
A group against technology escape to an unstudied world. One man is sent to discover the amount of contamination this group has done the the natural habitat and to return with a stolen device. He finds himself pulled into a world very different from the one he left. He finds out who he is, how to love, and much more.

This is the prequel to "Eon".
I have never been disappointed with any Greg Bear writings - well, maybe Darwin's radio. However, this is a great follow-up to his work entitled 'Eon.' Hard-core science fiction at its best. Hard to find a similiar writer like Greg Bear.
prequel to Bear's Eon (1987) and Eternity (1988)
