I did not think I would like this book very much. I thought the idea of flipping back and forth from present day back to the days of Louis XVI would be tedious and choppy. Of course I should have known better. I have not read one Danielle Steel book that I did not absolutely love. She did it again, she wrote with such description and dimension that I found myself thoroughly engrossed with the characters, and engaged in their passions. Wonderful Read!

Loved this book - loved how it flipped back and forth through the centuries - I have to admit I loved the story within the story more than the actual story. A must read!

This will probably be the last book by Danielle Steel that I will read. The stories are interesting, but the writing is lame. Can you state the same thing in six sentences by rearranging the words and repeating them in different ways? And then do it again several pages/chapters later? Danielle Steel can! It feels so repetitious to read her work. I enjoy excellent writing and she doesn't hit the mark for me. D.

Danielle Steel is finally going back to some of earlier research and writing a very good book. I thoroughly enjoyed this Book

I am a genealogist, so any stories that involve history and the search for family can bring me in. I truly liked this story, I was so wrapped up in the Native American Womans life, I actually wanted to know more about her. I so wish I could take 6 months off from my life and go on a journey like the protagonist did, it is my life's dream.

It has been awhile since I've read a Danielle Steel book. I'm glad I picked this one up at the library. The story was interesting to me since I am 1/2 native american. It doesn't look like the author has lost her touch in my opinion.

Typical Danielle Steel book. The description sounded like there might be more historical substance to the book, but unfortunately no. A quick light read if that is what you are in he mood for.

The ISBN number doesn't match only b/c I obtained this copy while traveling through Europe.
This was the first Danielle Steel book I have read, but now I plan to read more. This was an easy read and the story of Wachiwi kept me interested the whole time. It wasn't until further along that I became more interested in Brigitte's story. Unlike other books I've read that tell separate stories and jump back and forth between the two, this one flows well and does not get confusing at all.
