This is a gentle and sentimental book. I love the poetry, pictures and family photo's Jane Watson Hopping includes in her books. Her nostalgia for times gone by and family and friends reflects a simpler time. The recipes are simple and use ingredients that one would normally have on hand or that one can find in any supermarket. Definitely old time country cooking at it's best. Comfort foods and comforting thoughts. I love this book.
