When you read this book, you'll find an intro to Abraham or how Esther and Jerry were able to channel Abraham. When Jerry was young, he would experiment with a Ouija-board, which told him to read lots of books. He saw Napoleon Hill's "Think and Grow Rich" in a hotel lobby and took it as a sign. It made his hairs stand up. Then he found Jane Roberts' "Seth Speaks," which had the same reaction. He tried to get Esther to read it but she was afraid of the non-physical. Along the way, Esther started reading the books. Through friends they listened to a channeling session. They met with this person, Sheila, who channeled an entity named Theo and realized they had a lot of unanswered questions. Through meditation and relaxation exercises, Esther was now channeling Abraham. The non-believer is now the believer! How convenient! Don't get me wrong. I've read all of the "old-schoolers" like Napolean Hill, Wallace Wattles, Norman Vincent Peale, Dale Carnegie, and I've used their methods successfully in my life but please! Do we really need more of this crap? It's just recycled 1970s touchy-feely crap! If you're truly interested in the Law of Attraction, stick to the "old-schoolers" mentioned above. Or just read "The Secret" and "Seth Speaks."

I read this book kicking and screaming. I have cancer for the 3rd time and my mom bought me this book as part of a set including Ask and it is Given and The Astonishing Power of Emotions, all written by Esther and Jerry Hicks. I did not want to read these books because I did not believe that Esther was really channeling Abraham (a group of spirits from the other side). But I finally gave in and started with The Law of Attraction and finished all three. Putting aside my doubt, I just focused on the actual Law of putting positive thoughts and energy out into the Universe and seeing it come back to you. After 5 months of practicing these Laws in a daily meditation, my life has completely changed. I know, you too may be skeptical. But if you just remain open minded and take what you want and leave the rest, the messages in these books are very empowering and CAN make a major difference in changing your thought patterns from negative to positive. And focusing on the positive can definitely make your life more worth living. I highly recommend all 3 books.
