This book was a pleasant surprise. I had not read a book by Ward before, and the topic/title sounded potentially trite (aliens invade Earth!). However, the author included some interesting twists in the plot, and his writing style was very enjoyable. A very fast paced yarn. Thumbs up!

The Last World War is a story of a war between two alien societies that has found a way to spill over on to, and engulf, planet Earth via a cross-dimensional portals. Earth takes sides and the ensuing conflict is a good military SF read. Think Aliens, as in the movie, Predator, and then think organized armies of them bent on destroying their alien enemies AND their "Earthling" allies. Worth your reading time!
I enjoyed this book so much, I immediately went onto the web to search for other books by this author. The story is very realistic.
This book was awesome! Non-stop action, easy to read and understand writing style. Basically aliens from another dimension find a way to get to Earth. The bad news is, they've been locked in a deadly war for generations, and Earth is the new front! Can humans survive? Can they defend Earth? This book may be the first of a series, I'm not sure, but I'm definitely going to read more by this author!
The old "invading aliens through a wormhole" shtick. Unites the world, etc. A couple of factual errors describing military hardware. Very readable, though.

Good read. Aliens both good and bad invade earth and involve earthlings into war. Great book for a rainy afternoon.
What some people will read to avoid thinking about the complexities of universal health coverage!
Okay good alien/bad alien story.
