This was MUCH beter than I was expecting. I'm not sure why my expectation was low, but it probably had a lot to do with the cheesy cover.
Having always had an affinity for Eastern religions I was favorably impressed with the author's spin on the origins of vampires.

She thought she was the last vampire..... but now, someone hunts her. Another Vampire?
This is a pretty good book. Although it is not one of my favorite vampire books.
Good for the young who like mystery and a little romance.
This series was a favorite of mine when I was younger. Re-reading these books now, the writing seems pretty cheesy and melodramatic at times, but the story is still fun, and it's a quick read.
I got caught up in Christopher Pike books when my girls were teens. now they are adults, I still grab a quick read every now and then. these are good books. not truly scary, but great for the young adult
could not get into this book.
This is my first time reading this series and I can see why teens might like it. I found the book a bit lacking, but good to read. The first book goes back and forth from past to present, giving the reader a good sense of who she was before she was turned.
The only part that I disliked from this book was how much Sita resembled that of a heroine. With her gifts and abilities I was a bit disappointed to see her portrayed as such a weak woman. Her abilities to overcome defeat was shown many times yet how she got into such a predicament was what disturbed me. I love books that show women as intelligent, strong, and independent.

My husband liked it quite a bit. My TBR is too big and I'm not that into vampires right now.
