I just finished this book as a book club read. I suggested it before reading, based on Goodread reviews, And it lived up to its hype.
After a rocky start--the first couple of chapters--the real story begins. The language is edgy, and I think the F-bomb is dropped a little more than necessary, but it's still a good story about family, the lack of family, and the search for one's place in society. Alzheimer's plays an important roll, as does music.
It's also a road-trip novel. And aren't all road-trip stories about discovery...of the real world, and of one's self?
DUDE! YOU GOTTA RESPECT THE ROAD TRIP!!
