This is my first book by this author. The writing was good, and I laughed out loud at times, but it left me feeling sad. The book was upbeat and funny, but it managed to remind me that one day I will grow old and die. Time is running away with me. I think The book is great if you want a reminder of your mortality, or if you want to spend a few hours with people who are also growing old and slowly dying.

I have read a few books by Elizabeth Berg and was always very pleased with them. I loved the Art of Mending and Open House. This one drew me in then it got to the climax and I was like...really this is the turning point of the story??? From there it was downhill. It left me feeling like the ending was rushed, cut short so to speak. One of the main characters dies and there was no reflection whatsoever on his death from the other characters point of view. I was disappointed in this to say the least.

Everyone can relate to wanting or not wanting to attend their class reunion, so this book sounded interesting to me. Several times, it was mentioned that this would be the last reunion and I'm not sure why that would be the case. The story revolved around several characters in anticipation of the reunion and the reunion itself, and the characters were fairly well written; however, after the reunion, poof! Story pretty much ended. It would've been nice to see what happened with them after the reunion rather than the fluff written. I also didn't really like the style this was written in, and perhaps that is why I wasn't a big fan of this book. I gave it 2 stars since I was able to finish it, though this book took me a lot longer than normal to read as it didn't hold my attention very long before I'd have to set it down and come back to it.

I loved it! I love all of Elizabeth Berg's books. She has a wonderful way with words. It was especially poignant for me as I will be going to my own 40th high school reunion this spring.
