Another great Tom Eidson book. The Last Ride is the original from which the tv movie The Missing was made. The books are very similar and also very different. The ages of the children are different and major parts of the books/movie are different, so do not think that once you have read one of them you do not need to read the other. They are different enough to make two very delightful reads. Yes, there is a touch of de ja vue, but not enough to make you stop reading.
