In the 'Last Plantation, author Don Wright displays his inability to convey his story without a constant use of four letter words that detract from, rather than embellish the book. It could have been a good story. Unfortunately, Wright liberally sprinkled it with unnecessary and unacceptable word choices. At best, I rate it only a one star.

Based in Tennessee during the war between North and South. Seven lives entwined by war neither wanted or understood, by love that crosses boundaries of class, race, money and a way of life that is disappearing with a way of life.

I enjoy reading books that teach parts of history. I learned many things regarding slavery and about North versus South during war time. I was previously not aware of how this was all played out in history. If our history books were this interesting in school, I might have been able to retain a little more.
