This book is a mesmerizing tale that takes us inside the equally corrupt worlds of the mob, the movie industry and the casinos. Good book.
The last don is Domenico Clericuzio,a ferocious old man who is determined to secure his family's future in an era of legalized gambling,notion picture investments. It is unfair to compare "The Last Don" with "The Godfather" because "The Godfather" was in, and still remains, in a class all by itself. That being said, The Last Don is still a first-class, engaging and entertaining read.

Typical Godfather story.
Wonderfully written and lots of insight into the world of the Mafia.
Yet another wonderful book by the author of "The Godfather."
Mario Puzo at his best. If you liked the series of the Godfather then you will appreciate this book.

If you liked the Godfather series, this book is a must. I personally lost interest in it, but that doesn't mean you will.
This was for my 18 year old son - he said it was somewhat slow and liked the others better than this one.

I hate to be one of those people that say "the movie was better" but to me the movie was better. I found the book slow and I losr interest quickly. I ended up just skipping around and reading certain parts. It is very well written though and if you like mafia/mob stories, I don't really, then you'll love it.
It's Puzo - you can't go wrong!
