An okay read. Didn't enjoy it as much as her novel June in Winter. However, I enjoyed the trek through Africa. And the romance between Orchid (Wanda) and Ahmed. I was hoping Orchid (Wanda) would never regain her memory as the story continued.
Successful journalist Wanda Gray survives a plane crash in Africa. Her husband thinks she died in the crash, but she was rescued and taken in by an African family with a large ranch in Thika. Wanda has amnesia and remembers nothing of her previous life. Know known as Orchid, s he falls in love with the oldest brother, whose hard work has made the ranch successful, and grows very close to his elderly aunt, teenage cousin and younger brother. Meanwhile, Wanda's philander husband heats up his longstanding affair with Wanda's best friend, as well as a new fling. What happens when Wanda finally gets her memory back? Definitely worth reading to find out.
The premsise for this love story is a great one and the tale is told so expertly, that I could not put this book down. I didn't want the story to end, but it did have a happy ending.
