I enjoyed this book. Short stories about people trying to survivor the Land of Ash. Its not complicated, but an easy read for a couple of hours.

Well written but... REALLY depressing. I read 3 or 4 of the stories and just quit. They all end badly - no matter how "noble" the characters behave.

One of very few books I have ever put down unfinished. Got about halfway through, and couldn't handle another story with no resolution, with no point, or where the bad guy wins. Life is too short to read fiction that annoys or depresses me.
