Something about this book was just a little off (for me) but I can't quite put my finger on what it is? Otherwise it is a cute little love story but doesn't stand out from all the others there are out there, which for me is some what disappointing since I usually love Julia Quinn's humor and the way she weaves a tale that you want to read more than once.

While I enjoyed most of this book, there where a few things that I was disappointed in...mainly the ending. It fell a bit flat IMO. This was a 'sweet' book with very little in the way of sex and no tension or conflict to speak of. There were a few humorous bits but not like you would expect from these three authors. And I was sort of left wondering what happened to Octavia Darlington, the Earl of Charters sister.
Since it was a 'must read anything by these authors' kind of book for me, it was a good thing it was a fast read. I gave it 3 out of 4 stars.

Lady Finchley, the sister to Hugh Dunne, the Earl of Briarly, decides to throw a party at her country house inviting the most eligible young ladies. Hugh has decided that it is high time to get married after recently being close to death. He has asked Carolyn to help him find a suitable wife. Carolyn not only plans to match make for her brother but for her best friend Georgina too, who was widowed young. Not two, but three couples find love at this country party.
I don't usually read anthologies but this one caught my eye with the great list of authors participating. I really liked that all three stories were related by taking place at the country party and involved all the same characters. There are three distinct couples who find love at this party. I am not going to go into specifics because part of the fun of reading the book is discovering who ends up with who.
I felt that the stories flowed seamlessly together to where I would not have been able to identify the different authors if not for the labeling at the top of the page. I did however feel that the character Hugh's personality went from mildly appealing to greatly appealing by the end of the story. I like the direction the author's took his character and I enjoyed his romance the best. I thought all three stories were fun to read, but not overtly exceptional. This anthology is just a nice way to pass the time and I enjoyed the three sweet stories.

Loved this. It's an anthology that doesn't read as three seperate stories, but as one that continually flows from beginning to end. The poor hero (at the beginning) is hoping to secure a wife after an accident almost kills him. In the process, the women from his "list" are snatched up by others. While its a bit predictable and not as developed as a regular novel(it is an anthology) it's intersting to see the different perspectives of the different heros and heroines all wound up in one story. It's also nice to see the different writer's spins as each unfolds.

Eh...it's not bad? Less than a day after reading this, I barely remember the characters, which is never a good thing. I thought the first story was cute, the second annoying (hero as chaperone/guardian is so forced - even for a romance novel), and the last touching. The biggest problem was that some of the characters were not completely consistent throughout - particularly the character of Hugh - so I found it difficult to get into the story without ignoring what had come before. Not a good read, but not a terrible one; it has a permanent resting place in the Sea of Forgettable Novels.

I really enjoyed this compilation. It was a fun, light read. Perfect for an afternoon. I enjoyed Gwen and Alec story the most. Very entertaining and made me laugh.

This was a great blend of characters , written by three great writers. Read it in one night , because i could not put it down. Great story , humor and romance.I hope they do more like this.

wow this was a fun one to read...almost could not tell as the author switched from one to another. Quinn and James are two of my favorite authors with great books... and these are no exception.

I was disappointed. The 3 different authors really didn't flow well together, I think it would have been better as three seperate stories. I'd did like Quinn's the best of the three, the other 2 felt more like a chore to read.

I'm a big Julia Quinn fan, but I don't know much about the other two writers. As is the case with novels written by more than one author, the tone is a bit uneven. The stories were very light, even by romance standards, with very little in the way of conflict or character growth. Overall it was entertaining, though. I always enjoy Quinn's friendly narrative voice.
I thought this book was an anthology with three separate entries. Instead it was one story outfitted with three very different writing styles, making it a little awkward to read. Despite this, I liked all the characters. Unfortunately, only Quinn did justice to her story. Brockway's was dull with hardly any romance, and James' wasn't exactly riveting (with the exception of the love scene by the pond and Georgina's late husband's questionable sexuality), and the play at the end was downright silly and can be skipped altogether. Not exactly a satisfying read. 3.2 stars.
A quick, fun read by three favorite authors. Instead of 3 separate stories, it is the story of a house party where three misses find forever love with three totally different gentlemen.
I wasn't so sure about this collaboration idea; however, after the first few pages of scattered writing, I fell in love - a few times! Great stories!
Really enjoyed this book, kinda predictable but had a fun storyline about a houseparty and matchmaking. Quick easy fun read.
