Christopher Hollister will do whatever he must to regain his family's honor, especially for his crippled brother, Nicholas. He would even make a deal with the devil in the guise of a beautiful and powerful noblewoman. Christopher vows to ruin an innocent to save his home.

Lady Anne Blanchemains' ruthless grandfather has planned for the day he could send her to court and thus gain favor in Queen Elizabeth's eyes. He decrees that Anne find a wealthy husband among the queen's courtiers.

Anne is an innocent sent into a nest of vipers, but she is not a fool. When the Queen insists that Christopher teach her to dance, Anne finds herself alone with the one man she finds attractive and interesting. Christopher couldn't ask for more; his prey has been delivered into his hands. But neither count on the powerful attraction between them, nor the vicious betrayals and treacheries that surround them.
