This is the first book I read in the DeWarenne Dyansty series. After reading it I am eager to read more in this series. A wonderful romance novel, I couldn't put it down. 376 pages and I read it in two day!

not gonna lie did not think this one was as good as others in the series. I expected there to be more story, more struggle, more... just more. but still worth reading once if you are reading the series

I absolutely loved this book! Cliff de Warrene is one of my all-time favorite heroes, even with all of his flaws. They make him more realistic. Amanda Carre was raised as a total tomboy, but deep inside there is a perfect lady. They are perfect for each other.
Well-written, but ultimately disappointing because it was so completely predictable. A fast, easy read.
I would say this is one of my favorite Brenda Joyce books. Entertaining.
Next installment in a series however it can stand alone just fine. I can't wait for the next one.
I loved this book.
Raised as a pirate's daughter, Amanda Carre has not been tutored in the finer social graces. Alone in the world, she has never depended on anyone, until fate intervenes when Cliff de Warenne rescues her from a mob at her father's hanging. Now she must set sail for England to find the mother she never knew, and her chaperone is an infamous ladies man...

Great Book! Amanda Carre is a believable. Finally a herione who is strong and not wishy-washy. Cliff is great a bit full of himself, but what man isn't?
This is the best so far of the De Warrenne dynasty....Cliff's tale....
This is the story of Cliff de Warenne, he is a 3rd son and has become a rich privateer in Jamaica. He rescues Amanda for a mob at her pirate father's hanging. He thn agrees to transport her to London to her mother.
Good!!! First I have read in this series but I will be sure to read all of them.
Another wonderful tale of the DeWarenne dynasty! If you enjoy this family and historical fiction you will love this book as I did.
A touching "cinderella" story about a pirate's daughter becominig an English lady and finding love. Well written and enjoyable.
Romantic and good story. I could feel the steam coming off the pages
A Lady At Last (de Warenne Dynasty) by Brenda Joyce is a great historical romance with some great twist. Cliff De Warenne is the 3rd son and gentleman privateer. Amanda Carre is the daughter of a pirate (about to hung) and a English lady. Her father will be hung in the morning and she only has her body to trade for her father life. Cliff De Warenne saves her and becomes her Hero! Wow what a great romance - pirates, great romance and the fun De Warenne family.
I couldn't put this book down it was great!

really enjoyed it
I really enjoyed reading this story. I loved that even though she grew up with a pirate for a father, she still had a sense of innocence and loyalty.
Great story of love! Throughly enjoyed it. Happily Ms. Joyce has returned to her true form.
This is a revisit of the themes from Brenda Joyce's earlier works, "The Finer Things" and "Masquerade." This book is a quick read, but "The Finer Things" is much better.
Loved this book!

The latest from Joyce offers readers a passionate, swashbuckling voyage in her newest addition to the De Warenne dynasty series. This installment showcases Cliff De Warenne, third son to the earl of Adare, gentleman, privateer, notorious lady's man and, most recently, rescuer of damsels in distress. One such damsel, free spirit Amanda Carre, is left alone in Jamaica to face an angry mob after her father is hanged for piracy. The strong-willed beauty turns to De Warenne to sail her to London for a reunion with a mother she cannot remember and a rigid society she feels certain will scorn her. On the course of their stormy voyage, Cliff instructs Amanda in the art of becoming a lady, determined that she make a successful debut and land a good husband. Along the way, Amanda recognizes that her feelings toward her captain go beyond mere gratitude, and Cliff wonders if his fierce loyalty to the young woman runs deeper than he dares to acknowledge. Romance veteran Joyce brings her keen sense of humor and storytelling prowess to bear on her witty, fully formed characters. (Dec.) Copyright 2006 Reed Business Information.

My wife liked it. She reads lots of these bodice-rippers. I am posting it here because they are piling up.
Read The Conquerer First as that begins the DeWarenne family. Then read Promise of the Rose. Read The Game which brings in the O'Neill's. Then read The Prize. Then there is the Masquerade; The Stolen Bride; A Lady At Last; and finally Rex's story in The Perfect Bride.
I greatly enjoy the DeWarenne stories!
