Don't pick this book up thinking it's a romance. It's mainly a mystery with romantic elements. At the time I bought it, I didn't know/realize it was the first book in a series. There might be a lot more romance in book 2. I liked the interplay between the MCs. It's similar to the Zebra gothics I used to read when I was a teenager, but less suspense/action in this one. I might eventually pick up book 2, maybe, maybe not.
