This a post-apocalyptic novel, but it's so much more . . .
Hidden in the high mountains of Tibet is one of the last outposts of human life, a near-magical valley. But the remainder of the Earth is a blasted landscape peopled with countless souls doomed forever to a shadowy existence.
Then a mysterious illness strikes the refuge, and one of the children from the valley courageously makes a trek to the outer world searching for a cure.
