This book is a quick and easy read.I found to be so good, I can't part with it just yet. It tells a good story that holds your interest. An excellent book for teaching and learning about how the pilgrims came to this country and made their start. I didn't want it to end. You find yourself wondering how these brave people continued to make it through the hard winters. Many times ships would continue to bring more people and yet no provisions. I can't imagine the strength it took to hack it out in the wilderness baring their children along the way. A must read for anyone looking to see how it alll came to be. The indians were so helpful. It is such a crime that in later centuries the white people forgot they couldn't have gotten anywhere without the aide of such a womderful people.

This is a GREAT history book. Landmark does a good job of telling the real history that we so often miss. This story is an inspiring account of those that sacrificed all to have religious freedom, and those that did not have the guts to stay and get the job done. Not all were strong enough or faithful enough to do so. And many lost their lives in the effort.

This book gave me the desire to further research and read about the individual lives of these founders. It gives a true picture of the sacrifice and hardship they faced, and their courageous characters.
