I really liked the edgy protagonist, Suzanne Jones, mother of three, history teacher, armed robber and car thief. A really well-rounded individual. She's very likable and very Robin Hoodish, giving most of her ill-gotten gains to charity.

Enter Charlie Hood, LASD, cop extraordinaire. His love for Suzanne doesn't stop this right-minded cop from doing the right thing. Charlie is what you want every cop to be - upstanding, truthful and honest.

This is a well written true to life novel with great characters both the good guys and the bad.

I happen to love T Jeff, always an enjoyable read, I live in LA so I love the local descriptions. Its a fast read, and good characters. The ending is not a huge shocker, but they rarely are in his books IMO. I find you get there and you knew it was gonna happen that way. Thats not a bad thing for me, mind you.

Cumbersome thriller about a mild-mannered schoolteacher who supplements her income by going out costumed as a descendant of Joaquin Murrieta and sticking up fast-food joints. Mildly interesting protagonist, but the ending drags on interminably.

Parker's main character, Allison, is a thief who rationalizes the way she gets her thrill is that she donates the winnings to charity. You find you admire a little of her bravado and yet know she's going to step too far and when her "catch" is a fortune in diamonds, you know she's finally in over her head.

It's a fast paced book and written in Parker's style of unusual characters where the good guy "line" is finely drawn and still you cheer just a little for the outlaw.

Even if you know the conclusion 3/4 of the way through, you keep hoping you're wrong.
